Currently Tank-Masters.de visits the Strong Europe Tank Challenge (SETC) 2018 at the 7th Army Training Command Grafenwöhr Training Area.

On 18 May 2018 Tank-Masters.de had the very unique opportunity to photograph one of the last operational Bundeswehr Leopard 2A4 at the German Army Technical Center WTD 41 for Land-Based Vehicle Systems, Engineer and General Field Equipment in Trier. The photos will be used for a book about the Leopard 2A4 which will be published by Tankograd Publishing (www.tankograd.com) in the very same style like the Leopard 2A6 books No. 5070 and No. 5071.

Currently Tank-Masters.de visits the Certification Training Exercise of the 4th Rotation of the Enhanced Forward Battle Group Lithuania consisting of units of the German 37th Armoured Mechanized Brigade „Freistaat Sachsen“, the Czech 41. Mechanizovaný Prapor and the Dutch 43 Gemechaniseerde Brigade at the German Army Combat Training Center in Letzlingen.

On 27 April 2018 Tank-Masters.de was invited to the change of command ceremony of 1st Armor Division in Oldenburg during which our long-time friend Major General Markus Laubenthal handed over the command of the division to Brigadier General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart. The hand over of the guidon was conducted by the Commander Field Army and Vice Chief German Army, Lieutenant General Carsten Jacobson, who has been supporting our various projects since many years.

On 18 April 2018 Tank-Masters.de was invited to the Welcome Event of Panzerbrigade 12 „Oberpfalz“ at their new garrison in Cham. As part of the new Army Structure HEER2011 Panzerbrigade 12 „Oberpfalz“ was relocated this month from Amberg to Cham.

At the end of March 2018, Tank-Masters.de had the unique opportunity to photograph the Leopard 2A5 Main Battle Tank with an urban operations camouflage during a test exercise at the new urban training site Schnöggersburg located within the German Army Combat Training Center. You can find more photos in my upcoming Leopard 2A5 book published by Tankograd Publishing.

On 6 March 2018 Tank-Masters.de was invited to visit the Großer Zapfenstreich (Grand Tattoo) of Panzerbrigade 12 „Oberpfalz“ in Amberg. As part of the new Army Structure HEER2011 Panzerbrigade 12 „Oberpfalz“ will get relocated to its new garrison in Cham beginning in April 2018. The Großer Zapfenstreich was the farewell gift of the brigade to the city of Amberg which has been a military garrison for nearly 300 years.

From 24 to 25 February 2018 Tank-Masters.de visited the Combat Training Exercise Peacock Supremacy 2018 of the Task Force led by 45 Pantser Infanterie Bataljon Regiment Infanterie Oranje Gelderland of the 43 Gemechaniseerde Brigade at the German Army Combat Training Center in Letzlingen.

Recently Tank-Masters.de had the unique opportunity to visit the operational tests of the new M1296 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle – Dragoon (ICV-D) and the M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle – Javelin (ICV-J) with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment at the Grafenwöhr Training Area. These two vehicles were developed and are now getting fielded due to a direct request of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment for more firepower.

For this issue Tank-Masters.de provided reports about the new German Bridging System Leguan, the Puma AIFV with the MELLS ATGM as well as M1A2 SEP V2 Abrams MBTs of 1st Platoon, Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Teams, 3rd Infantry Divisionwhile conducting the IED lanes as part of the Strong Europe Tank Challenge.
