Schnellfahrender Geschützter Baggerlader HMEE
In 2011 the German Bundeswehr ordered seven Schnellfahrende Geschützte Baggerlader High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE) from JCB as an Urgent Operational Requirement for ISAF operations in Afghanistan. The Bundeswehr vehicles feature the Theatre Entry Standard (TES) but are not equipped with a slat armor. The first vehicle was delivered at the end of 2012 and by May 2013 all seven vehicles were handed over to the Budneswehr. Two vehicles were transported by cargo airplanes to Afghanistan in June 2013. The protected vehicle features a road camera monitor system (S-KMS) with two HD CCD camera and two monochorme cameras. The tactical camera monitor system (T-KMS) has three cameras. Each T-KMS camera includes an uncooled thermal imaging system and a CCD daysight camera.
