In contrast to the original Wiesel 1A0 MK Armored Weapon Carrier, fielded between 1990 and 1992, the upgraded Wiesel 1A2 MK features the new sight PERI Z17 BM48 WBG with an integrated 3rd generation thermal sight with 4x and 8x magnification. The fielding of the Wiesel 1A2 MK Armored Weapon Carrier started in 2006. The armament consists of the MK 20mm Rh 202 automatic cannon.
