BW – ATF Dingo 2 GE A3.4B CG-13
ATF Dingo 2 GE A3.4B Schutzausstattung CG-13
Based on official information, in 2018 a total of 27 ATF ATF Dingo 2 GE A3.2B with the configuration Patrol and Security Vehicle were modified by installing the CG-13 electronic countermeasure (ECM) system made by Hensoldt and are now designated as ATF Dingo 2 GE A3.4B. From the exterior these vehicles can be recognized by seven additional antennas on the roof of the protected crew cab as well as on the bonnet.
By installing the ECM system CG-13 behind the passenger seat, the seat of the soldier No. 3 was removed. Now the protected interior only provides space for up to five passengers. The CG-13 ECM sytem is a reactive jammer and used for the self-protection of the crew and the carrier vehicle against radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIED) during patrol operations. Depending on the received or detected threat signals, the ECM system sends eletromagnetic energy on preset frequencies or frequency ranges in order to prevent the reception of the trigger signal sent by the assassin by the reception module of the RCIED in the effective range of the system for a certain period of time. The CG-13 frequency ranges are set by the software parameterization. The jamming unit located behind the passenger seat is the main element of the ECM system and creates the jamming frequency in the frequency range between 20 MHz and 3000 MHz. Depending on the setting, the jamming unit can be operated in the three modes: reactive jamming, active jamming as well as combined jamming. The jamming units is controlled and monitored by the command & control PC mounted in a special bracket at the console. If required, it can be removed from this bracket. With the operator interface of the touch-screen, commands can be given and messages can get displayed.
