Transportpanzer 1A8A4 Fuchs Pioniergruppe
Between 1994 and 1997, some Transportpanzer 1A4A2 Fuchs Standard mit SEM 80/90 und Einbausatz Pioniergruppe were upgraded to the Transportpanzer 1A7A4 Fuchs Standard zusatzgepanzert mit SEM 80/90 und Einbausatz Pioniergruppe modifiziert configuration featuring improved ballistic protection. As part of the modification, two bucket seats were removed from the cargo compartment. Three vehicles were later modified to the Transportpanzer 1A8A4 Fuchs Standard mit SEM 80/90, mit Zusatzpanzerung, IED-/Minenschutz, Raumkühlanlage, Schutzausstattung CG-12 und Einbausatz Pioniergruppe variant. In the meantime, these three vehicles were converted and equipped with the CG-20+ counter-explosive device and are now designated as Transportpanzer 1A8A17 Fuchs Standard, mit SEM 80/90, mit Zusatzpanzerung, IED-/Minenschutz, Raumkühlanlage und Einbausatz Stör-/Schutzausstattung CG-20+. Additionally, the Bundeswehr ordered another 25 Transportpanzer 1A8A4 vehicles with the engineer squad mission kit in 2016, and these were fielded in 2018-2019.
