Enok 6.1 Fu 2 DV Personal- und Materialtransport

In December 2014 the Bundeswehr ordered a total of 84 Enok 6.1 of the Level 1 of the Protected Command and Multipurpose Vehicles. Out of the 84 vehicles ordered, 53 are planned to be used by the Army with various mission kits. The majority will be used by the German Special Forces of the Kommando Spezialkräfte in Calw. On the other hand 23 vehicles will be used by the Joint Service Support and additional 8 by the Air Force as patrol vehicles with the same equipment. The first vehicles were already handed over to the Bundeswehr in 2017. Due to the steel monocoque and the mine protection it is much better protected then the predecessor, the Enok 5.4, and features a slightly increased payload. Hereby the vehicle is capable to get equipped with the light remotely controlled weapon station FLW 100, which is usually armed with a 7.62mm x 51 MG3A1T machine gun. The Enok 6.1 mostly differs from the already fielded Enok 5.4 variants by the running gear technology as it features portal axles. Each wheel has two suspension struts with special shock absorbers with external reservoirs like used in the rallye sport.
